CBC.ca: Voter turnout drops to record low

An estimated 59.1 per cent of Canadians cast votes in Tuesday's general election — a figure that appears to be a record low in the history of Confederation.

So, to recap...

None of the Above - 40.9%
Conservatives - 22.2% (37.6% x 0.591)
Liberals - 15.5% (26.2% x 0.591)
NDP - 10.8% (18.2% x 0.591)
Bloc Quebecois - 5.9% (10% x 0.591)
Others - 4.7% (8% x 0.591)

The largest proportion of Canadians preferred watching TV, playing with their kids, finishing work tasks, reading, shopping, relaxing or any number of other activities to heading out and voting for one of five practically indistinguishable shades of socialism.

Now that's what I call progress.
